The City's gateway monuments serve as an integral part of Stafford's image and identity. There are four monuments located in the City of Stafford, two along U.S. 59, one on U.S. 90A at Present Street, and the fourth on U.S. 90A at FM 1092. Constructed in a "spire" shape, they stand 50 feet high with the words "City of Stafford" on the top panel. The top part of the monuments is a lantern which glows at night in different colors.
The Stafford Economic Development Corporation funded this project. Total cost for the project was $555,555.00.
